AAG appoints Slifer as new CEO

Leading reverse mortgage lender American Advisors Group (AAG) has announced the hiring of Scott Slifer as the company’s chief administrative officer, a move that will put him in charge of the nationwide divisions of field sales, wholesale and of the commercial development of the lender.

Prior to joining AAG, Slifer worked at the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) for three years, first as production and distribution manager and then as home loan manager. He was also responsible for the global mortgage vertical at Sutherland Global Services, was president of the private label solutions channel at PHH Mortgage Corporation, now a division of Ocwen Financial Services and parent entity of Liberty Reverse Mortgage.

For its part, Slifer plans to work with the products offered by AAG, which offer another type of potential solution compared to traditional financial services.

Recently, AAG added to its repertoire of partnerships to support aging priorities among its clients, including new deals in the home modification space, seeing an opportunity for reverse mortgages to provide assistance to borrowers who want to personalize their home to meet the needs of staying in place as they age.

Late last year, the company announced a partnership with VGM Live at Home, a nationwide collaborative membership community with services for independent and certified accessible home modification providers and contractors. . Now, AAG has added several new home modification partnerships, including with a bath products maker called BestBath, which makes products designed for people of all abilities.

In a unique marketing twist, the company also recently extended its reach to popular social media platform TikTok by sponsoring the prize in a “vocabulary challenge” hosted by a senior influencer.

According to approval data compiled by Reverse Market Insight (RMI), AAG is the top reverse mortgage lender in the country with 17,335 loans in the 12 months ending February 2022.
