Dan.com launches new features, including domain categories.
Domain name trading platform Dan.com today announced a product update, including the ability to add domains to user-defined categories.
We should probably call domain categories “light category” for now because their functionality is limited. But the next version is expected to include category-wide settings, which will be a significant improvement.
For now, you can place your domains in any category you’ve set up, such as short domains, two-word domains, or high and low value domains.
In a future release, you will be able to set category-wide settings. This will allow you to easily define different types of landing pages per category. For example, you can create a category of domains under $5,000 and apply optional funding to those domains while keeping it out of more expensive domains. Or, you can enable “make offer” on more expensive domains.
Another improvement is Dan.com’s hybrid landing pages. These pages include both pay-per-click links through a partnership with Bodis and a link to buy the domain. Dan.com has tweaked the lander and says the changes have improved ad revenue and sales.
More details on these and other features the company just rolled out can be found in Dan.com Product Update #5.
